Broncos DE likely out for year

Vance Walker might not get the chance to replace Malik Jackson for the Denver Broncos.

Walker tore his anterior cruciate ligament and will is expected to miss the season, the team announced.

Walker was projected to be a starter at defensive end. His injury could force second-round pick Adam Gotsis into a larger role as a rookie.

Gronk exits practice

Tight end Rob Gronkowski left the New England Patriots’ Monday practice early after pulling up short on a pass route during a 7-on-7 session.

Gronkowski went to the locker room with a trainer afterward.

There was no immediate update on Gronkowski’s condition.

Saints rookie DT Sheldon Rankins suffered a broken fibula Monday and is expected to miss six weeks, according to multiple reports.
