Donald Trump adviser thanks Tom Brady for support, ignoring 'verbal shrapnel'

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been reticent to discuss his bond with President Donald Trump, but Trump is “grateful” for the friendship, a top adviser said in an interview on Tuesday.

“President Trump is just so grateful that friends like Tom Brady are loyal and can ignore the shrapnel, the verbal shrapnel,” Kellyanne Conway said on Fox News. “I assume same with Bob Kraft, the owner of the team, who is a good friend of the President’s, who came to the inauguration, and is just a fabulous man and leader in this country.”

Brady, whose Patriots face the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl on Feb. 5, said in a radio interview on Monday that he doesn’t know why “everybody make such a big deal” about his friendship with Trump that stretches back several years.
