Doc Rivers fined $15K for Tuesday's tirade

Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers has been fined $15,000 by the NBA for directing verbal abuse toward an official and failing to leave the court in a timely manner after his ejection, the league announced Thursday.

The incident occurred late in the first overtime of the Clippers’ double-overtime loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday when referee Ken Mauer whistled Rivers for a technical foul for crossing midcourt to argue a call with referee Lauren Holtkamp. Rivers lost his cool and began yelling at Mauer, leading to a second technical and an automatic ejection.
